Betty Jean Russell, 58, of Bay Springs passed away on Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, in a tragic accident at her home at 77 County Road 1511, Bay Springs.
Betty’s death was simultaneous with her husband, Robbie Dale Russell, of 30 years and her mother-in-law, Laura Virginia Russell.
She is survived by two daughters, Victoria Walker (Prentice) of Louin and Celina Russell of Bay Springs; three stepsons, Daniel Russell of Atmore, Ala., Ryan Russell of Mobile, Ala., and Steven Russell of Adrian, Mich.; one grandson, Hank Walker; and several step-grandchildren. Betty also is survived by two brothers, Lewis Edward Harrington Jr. (Delinda) of Montrose and Randy Paul Harrington (Rebecca); and three sisters, Linda Sue Atkins (Joe) of Bay Springs, Barbara Hughes (Bill Sr.) of Laurel and Bell Dees of Grovetown, Ga.
Betty was born in Louisville, Miss., on Sept. 30, 1958. She was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. She is the daughter of Eula J. Spears Harrington and the late Lewis Edward Harrington Sr. She was preceeded in death by her father and two brothers, Anthony Glenn Harrington and Robert Wayne Harrington.
Betty worked over the last several years as a caregiver for numerous elderly people in the community. Her humor, joyful laughter and helpful nature will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Services will be on Monday with visitation from 1:30-3:30 p.m. with a service immediately following at First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ, Bay Springs.
