Beverly Jane Boswell died Feb. 3, 2018 at St. Dominic’s Hospital following a brief illness. She was born Dec. 18, 1930 in Brainerd, Minn., to Hans and Adeline Andersen. She was a graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn.
Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel with funeral services to follow in the chapel. Brother Bill Blair will officiate. Burial will be at Lake Park Hills Cemetery.
In 1954, she married Samuel E. Boswell. Sam was a petroleum engineer with Halliburton Corporation. They traveled widely due to his work and lived in such places as Las Vegas, Swift Current, Saskatchewan and near the oil fields of Venezuela. In 1970, Sam retired and they made their home in Laurel. Beverly taught mathematics at Northeast Jones High School until her retirement.
She enjoyed attending services with her friends at Trinity Baptist Church in Laurel. She was a passionate gardener who loved to show off her flowers to family and friends.
She is survived by her sisters Jackie Magee and Gene Gullickson; brother Dale Andersen; husband Sam Boswell; daughters Brenda Nolan and Karen Boswell; son Daniel Boswell; grandchildren Heather Chapman, Ryan Chapman, Savannah Boswell, Jake Boswell and Rosalie Nolan.
