Brenton Joseph Ulmer, 29, of Laurel passed from this life on March 14, 2017, due to injuries sustained from an accident in Alabama.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m., at Highland Baptist Church. Brother Gene Douglas will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today (Saturday) at the church and also beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday prior to services.
Brenton was born in Laurel on Oct. 14, 1987. He was a 2006 graduate of West Jones High School, a member of Highland Baptist Church and was employed with Tanner Construction. He will be remembered for his love of cars, Packers football and his family. He was a member of the C-List Club and always had a smile on his face. Brenton never met a stranger and was loved by everyone he met.
Brenton was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather James Busby.
He is survived by his parents Joseph T. “Joey” and Sonya Ulmer of the Sharon Community; and his sister Amber Powell (Wendell) of Laurel. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Barbara Busby of Laurel; paternal grandparents Ted and Sheree Ulmer of McKinney, Texas, and Joyce Hosey of Laurel; nephew Andrew Parker of Laurel and niece Kaitlyn Parker of Laurel; uncles Brian Busby (Sonya) of Soso and Tony Ulmer of Benton, Ark.; aunt Ginger Walters (Joseph) of Laurel; cousins Reed and Chase Ulmer, Keith, Emily and Brody Busby, and Joshua and Ella Walters; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Josh Dagen, Josh Welborn, J.D. Bisnette, Dan Hollister, Jacob Boleware, and Dylan McNeil. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Smith, Jarrod Hankins and Keith Busby.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Brenton’s memory to the Mission at the Cross, 324 S. Magnolia St., Laurel, MS 39440.
