Harold Lloyd Pitts, 88, of Ellisville died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. He was born Monday, June 3, 1929 in Jones County.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ellisville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurel. Rev. Kenneth Flynt and Rev. Brandon Wilson will officiate.
Mr. Pitts was the retired owner and operator of Pitts Grocery. He was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Pitts proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cicero Doyle Pitts and Louella Ellzey Pitts; brother Jimmy Darrell Pitts; grandson Lee Thomas Holifield; and grandson-in-law Jeff Robinson.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years Ollie Jane Welch Pitts of Ellisville; two daughters, Linda Pitts Hilbun (Larry) of Ellisville and Lanell Pitts Holifield (Larry) of Laurel; brother George Wendell Pitts of Soso; two sisters, Doris Johnson of Ellisville and Janelle Hinton of Callahan, Fla.; five grandchildren, Robin Robinson, Ryan Hilbun, Ron Hilbun, Kim Holifield and Kacey Holifield; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Robinson and Abby Hilbun.
Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Hilbun, Ron Hilbun, Chris Welch, Whitney Welch and Billy Johnson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Taylor Robinson.
