James Edward Evans of Wisteria Trail died May 11, 2018 at the age of 83. He was surrounded by his wife and children at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with visitation hours 9-11 a.m. Interment will be in lake park Cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
An avid deer hunter, James also had a particular love of motorcycles and owned and operated a BSA Motorcycle dealership on Wisteria Trail for many years. He was also a very proud member of the American Legion Post No. 11 for more than 60 years.
James Edward was preceded in death by parents Rose Etta Harrison Evans and George Washington Evans II; brothers “Dutch” George Washington Evans III, Ralph Evans and Lavon Sylvester Evans; and his first wife Dorence Duckworth Evans.
He is survived by his present wife Hester Evans from Waynesboro; sons James Terry Evans and wife Anna; George Timothy Evans; daughters Teresa Evans Mowbray and husband Alan, Janie Evans Spraberry and husband Clay; step-daughters Tammy Garcia and husband Alex, Daphne Andrews and husband James. He had five grandchildren, Dariby Hynum, Braxton Reich, Adillia Reich, Lane Mize, Jessica Guy; and two step-grandchildren, Johnathan and Jacob Earl; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Dariby Hynum, Braxton Reich, Adillia Reich, Tristen Mize, Tyler Brashier, Rich Guy and Lane Mize.
