Leon Sellers Scoggins, born May 2, 1946, to E.L. and Etta Scoggins of Pendorff Community died Friday, Nov. 10 2017, in his home in Memphis, Tenn., following a prolonged illness.
A memorial service for Sellers will be at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Memphis at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with a reception and time to visit with family following.He grew up in Jones County and was a graduate of Ellisville High School and Jones County Junior College. Sellers was married to Pamela Bush of Ellisville. Together, they lovingly parented three children. They recently moved to Memphis after their retirement to be near family.
Sellers is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Anita and Jim Masters of Laurel; his wife of 49 years Pam; his son and daughter-in-law Joel and Bethany Scoggins of Memphis; his daughter and son-in-law Jill and Kurt Peistrup of London, England; his daughter Joanna Scoggins of Columbia, S.C.; and three granddaughters, Addie, Lucy and Claire Scoggins of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister Cherie Tidwell.
In lieu of flowers, the family has designated Young Life Memphis or Mission to the World for memorial contributions.
